Shelly Kennedy is a magna cum laude graduate of Illinois State University, where she also earned her M.A. in Spanish pedagogy and linguistics. She has taught for thirteen years at the high school and junior high levels in Illinois. She taught for three years at Illinois State University, where she won the Spanish Department's award for Excellence in Teaching. She also taught for two years at a private college preparatory school in Orange Park, Florida. Shelly teaches all levels of Spanish offered at New Berlin, including two Dual Credit courses through Lincoln Land Community College.
In her free time, Shelly enjoys traveling, working out, watching her favorite reality TV shows, eating sushi, drinking Starbucks, and most of all spending time with her family; especially her son, Lane and daughter, Joselyn. Shelly is very happy to have the opportunity to teach at NBHS, and she loves being a Pretzel.
